How dance movement therapy sessions work?

In the beginning of dance movement therapy sessions, therapy goals are being set according to your needs and difficulties.

Treatment takes place in a safe, favorable atmosphere under the guidance of a therapist.

Session consists of a conversation and balanced movement, which allows to express thoughts, feelings and emotions creatively. In the process, music, rhythm and various auxiliary materials (fabrics, balls, scarves, etc.) are used.

The session ends with a conversation, during which the gained experience is summarized.

In therapy, people of different ages can participate: both children and adolescents, young people, adults, and elderly.

Dance movement therapy takes place individually, in a group, with a child together with parents (or one parent), with participation of the whole family, with participation of the couple.
